    Unhappy Probability problem 4

    5.42 Suppose that the probability distribution of a random variable x can be described by the
    formula
    p(x) = (x - 3)2
    55
    for each of the values x = - 2, -1, 0, I, and 2.
    Write the probability distribution of x.
    Show that the probability distribution of x satisfies the properties of a discrete probability distribution.
    Calculate the mean of x.
    Calculate the variance and standard deviation of x.

    it seems obvious to me that these problems will affect your grade in a class somehow. in which case we cannot offer you any specific help, but only (maybe) very general guidelines. in what capacity are you allowed to receive help for these? show what you have attempted for these problems
