It can be better than the U.S. one but it is still not fair.
Because there is no such thing as a fair casino game.

2) Interesting fact. A professor published his method on how to count cards. One would think that blackjack would then be rejected by casinos but the reality is, blackjack became one of the more profitable portions for the casinos. The reason? Casinos just used multiple decks, making card counting implausible, but people that read the pamphlet on how to count 'em go in and try to break the house, with devastating results to your wallet.

False! There are modifed card counting techiniques. The famous MIT team won 800,000 dollars with multiple decks. Later on (years later) the team leader of that team formed a new team which won between 4 and 6 million. (Seen it on the Discovery Channel). Apparently it is possible to count with multiple decks and gain the advantage.

Here is the real reason. There are few players who really know how to win at blackjack. But these players usually play for not much money - rembember there are maximum size bets. And if they try to go for big bets casinos will usually ban them. And they would not be allowed to enter a casino. However, common players do not know how to win at blackjack. And they lose. Casinos do not care if they lose, as long as they win more than they lose. Thus, even if there are players out there who can win a few hundred a night - it does not bother casinos because they win more.
