How many ways can a chair, a recording secretary and three other committee members be selected from a group of 8 people?
Ok again this one I worked on, but came up with 1120, but I don't thinkthis is right. Thanks for checking.

How many ways can a chair, a recording secretary

be selected from a group of 8 people?

I came up with 1120.

There are $8$ ways to select the chairperson.
There are $7$ ways to select the recording secretary.
The other 3 members are chosen from the remaining 6 people: $\binom{6}{3} = 20$ ways.

Therefore: . $8 \times 7 \times 20 \:=\: 1120$ ways.
