    statistics questions

Hey I am bit confused of this answer because mode definition is that mode is the common number that comes most often in this data set e.g. 3,3,3,2,5 the mode is 3, but the question's answer that i attached is telling me that the highest frequency of ranges is 488, highest is not mode, highest is the maximum init?

CAN ANYONE UNDERSTAND THIS ANSWER PROPERLY AND EXPLAIN ME OR IF IT IS WRONG THEN TELL ME THE CORRECT ANSWER WITH THE METHOD YOU USED !!

The frequency tells you how often a number (or a range) occurs.
Here, if the frequency of a range X is a, superior to b, the frequency of another range Y, it means that the values appear more often in the range X than in the range Y.

Comparing frequencies is like comparing the number of occurs of the values, the higher it is, the more often the values appear in the associated range...

In your example, 151-160 will be the mode of the ranges of heights.

Dunno if it's clear enough ?

Frequency is the amount of times something appears in a sample.

E.g. In this sample: 2, 3, 4, 5, 3 ,3, 6, 3, 8 - the frequency of 3 is four because it appears four times. So in your question, the highest frequency means the number that has appeared the most. 488 is the highest frequency so it IS the mode! And the corresponding value to 488 is 151-160cm so that's the answer. Hope that helps! (it's my first answer on this site)
