Thread: Hypothesis Testing

Can someone help me with this?It seems so simple yet I can't seem to understand the brief one page introduction to hypothesis testing given by my textbook.

You are the pilot of a jumbo jet. You smell smoke in the cockpit. The nearest airport is less than 5 minutes away. Should you land the plane immediately?

I wrote down:
H0:u = 5
H1:u < 5

next you have to write down the distribution of X, which is written (X~B) X being the number of your sample, and B being the probability.
After that you need to put the values into the formula :]
