    Thumbtack Drawing Pin

A thumbtack (drawing pin) can landon either point up or point down. Drew dropped the thumbtack 100 times and found that it landed point up 38 times.
Drew concluded that the probability the thumbtack lands points up is about what in terms of a decimal?

    Solution:

    A. 0.2
    B. 0.6
    C. 0.9
    D. 0.4

    Let A = Drew's probability

    P(A) = 38/100 = 0.38

The closest decimal number from the list given to 0.38 is choice D. Is this right?

Yes, that's correct. Now, what is the probability that I will step on that thumb tack?

The P(you will step on the thumbtack) is 0.

Boy, oh boy what? Let me guess: YOU are getting ready to downgrade my effort. Shame on HARPAZO for not remembering basic probability learned over 30 years ago.
