    Cool Probability help!!!

    How many DIFFERENT 5-card hands can be dealt from a standard deck of 52 cards???

    That would be 52 choose 5 or 2598960

    You can look at it this way 52! /(5! * 47!) =2598960

    What Ranger SVO is saying is that order is not important. For example,

    ACE,TWO,TRHEE Spades is considered the same as,
    TWO,THREE,ACE Spades. Thus, this is a combination problem.

    Thus, \left( \begin{array}{c} 52\\5 \end{array} \right)=2598960
