    Correlation coefficient

Could you please help me with this question?

Linear correlation coefficient between variables X and Y is 0.6. If variables X and Y are standardized, then what is the value of the variable X, if its predicted value of Y is 3?

    Thank you!

    Re: Correlation coefficient

    Hey jenny1.

Hint - Think of a linear model in the form Y = aX + b. Let b = 0 if they are standardized.

Do you know what a should be? If so - Can you get Y as a function of X [or vice-versa]?
    Thanks from topsquark
