Help me find the percentile please?
Find the percentile rank

A teacher gives a 20-point test to 10 students. Find the percentile rank
of a score of 12.
18, 15, 12, 6, 8, 2, 3, 5, 20, 10

can you please show me the steps to solving this and don't use any complicated math terms? thanks.

Re: Help me find the percentile please?
Put the data in order, count how many scores were 12 or less, write this as a percentage of the total number of scores.

Why are you learning about percentiles if you do not even know how to calculate a percentage? I suggest you google this, as this is not a tutoring service.

Re: Help me find the percentile please?
because it's a prerequisite to my major , you think most people remember the useless math they learn in high school?there is a reason no one remembers it, it's because you don't use it u lose it, no one needs to know this crap. I'm sure solving the problem is extremely simple and takes less then a minute to show, but instead u dance around the answer and choose to say this is not a tutoring service, like seriously? the url to this website is math help forums, that means you help people with there math , no?

It's not useless. It wouldn't have been invented if it was useless.

Obviously you do, if it's needed for your course. That means that you will be using it in your course and therefore must be using it in your chosen field.

Yes the problem is extremely simple, and yes, it took me less than a minute to work out. But the idea of this site is to help people to be able to do maths THEMSELVES, not to do the work FOR you. You have been given some very simple instructions. If you don't understand the words, look them up in a dictionary. If you don't know how to do the underlying maths before you can do this problem, google it, or get a tutor who can teach it all to you. This is a site where we help with SPECIFIC problems, which I gave you promptly, clearly and concisely. It's now up to YOU to attempt it.
