    a. P( \mbox{Jack}) = \frac {\mbox{number of Jacks in the deck}}{\mbox{number of cards in the deck}}

    b. P( \mbox{Heart}) = \frac {\mbox{number of Hearts in the deck}}{\mbox{number of cards in the deck}}

    c. P( \mbox{A picture card}) = \frac {\mbox{number of picture cards in the deck}}{\mbox{number of cards in the deck}}

    d. P( \mbox{9 or 10}) = P(9) + P(10) - P(9\mbox{ and }10) = P(9) + P(10) = \frac {\mbox{number of 9's in the deck}}{\mbox{number of cards in the deck}} + \frac {\mbox{number of 10's in the deck}}{\mbox{number of cards in the deck}}
