Derivative of a Two-Parameter Gamma Distribution

    Hello Math Forums,

This is my first time posting here so I apologize for not knowing all the functions of the board, but I just have a stats question that I am unable to solve.

I am trying to determine the derivative of a two parameter Gamma distribution, dg(x;α,β)/d(x), using the gamma distribution shown below.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

    Thank you.

Re: Derivative of a Two-Parameter Gamma Distribution

    Hey leew0112.

    Hint: Try using the product rule of d/dx(uv) = uv' + vu' where u = x^(alpha-1) and v = e^(-x/Beta)
