Of the members of a track and field club, 42% entered track events at the most recent provincial meetings, 32% entered field events and 20% entered both.

What is the probability that a randomly selected member of the club
i) entered either a track event or a field event at the pronvicial meet?

ii) did not compete at the meet?

THE ANSWER IS 0.46 and 0.54. CaN ANYONE SHOW ME HOW THEY GOT THAT?

3. Hello Sniped X for the first one $\displaystyle \frac{42}{100}$ signed up for a track event and $\displaystyle \frac{32}{100}$ signed up for a field event however $\displaystyle \frac{20}{100}$ signed up for both

So now we get $\displaystyle \frac{42}{100} + \frac{32}{100} - \frac{20}{100} = \frac{54}{100}$

So now we have that value that $\displaystyle \frac{54}{100}$ did participate which means the remaining $\displaystyle \frac{46}{100}$ did not.
