Thread: deflate variables by average total assets

hi there,
i need to deflate my study variables which in financial accounting by average total assets, i already have z variable and z average total assets calculated, so how can i do that, given that i'm using stata 12? plz any help, thanx in advance

By z-variable, do you mean z-score? If not then what do you mean by z-variable and z-average?

thank u for yr attention, i meant i have the variables of the study like earnings calculated and at finance articles, they usually say all variables deflated by the average total assets, i don't really understandand what that mean. it is like making adjustment or lowering the variables by average total assets, but i don't know how they do so. but i need to do this in order to move to the next step of statistical anaysis. thanks again for yr reply.
