help with Stats hypothesis testing question
Hey guys, I don't have access to spss but I was wondering if I could get help on this question, its review for my exam coming up in a couple days. Thanks!
The following are data of short-term memory span for a sample of children in a special education class, following a training program that is expected to improve memory. The numbers indicate how many items a participant recalled in a memory task.

1. The average memory span for all children this age is 5.5 items with a standard deviation of 1.50 items. What can the researcher conclude about the memory performance of this sample? (Use α = .05, two-tailed test)
2. Conduct the hypothesis test again, this time removing the outlying score of 20. What conclusion is reached now about the children who received the training program?
Re: help with Stats hypothesis testing question
20 included:
special class to improve short-term memory of kids = no good even with the super high IQ kid included! (Giggle)
20 outlier exclude:
excluding the super-smart kid makes the course worthless! (Rock)
