I have some data displayed as CDF (Distribution Function) what does it show

Hi, I am not very good in statistics, but I want to know what exactly is CDF, I have attached a graph here. It is the CDF of distance with respect to IP addresses. Can any one explain me a bit about CDF and what exactly it re-presents, but in simple words.

    Thanks

The CDF shows the proportion of IP addresses which have less than or equal to the distance on the X axis.
