The 8 that play both are already accounted for in the 98 that play either so you subtract that number. You end up with 90 playing sports and 110 that don't. 110/200 = .55.
At 1 school with 200 male students, 58 play football, 40 play basketball, and 8 play both. With the probability that a randomly selected male student plays neither sport?
What I am stuck on is the wording on how to calculate my total sum amount. 106 play sports, so do I subtract that from 200 to come up with 94 that don't play sports? I did all possible calculations and can't come up with the answer of .55.
Any help would be appreciated.
