Hi. I hope this is the right place to post this. I have not taken statistics for over 10 years. I now have to write a literature review about gestational diabetes and I am having trouble understanding the data. The information is from the article at this site: http://doctorthornton.com/docs/study.pdf A source referencing this article stated that dietary counseling is more effective for reducing the risk of gestational diabetes but the "evidence was very low quality." The article mentions p-value a lot and I think I do not understad what it means. Is there a simple explanation for someone really bad at math? Would a p-value of 0.118 make the evidence "very low quality'? I would appreciate any help.
