Hi,
Question is...
if ratio of sports cars produced last year to this year is 3:5 and 14,000 trucks were produced last year, approximately how many sports cars were produced this year?
imagine as a pie chart
last year percentage hold for sports car = 23%
this year percentage hold for sports car = 25%
last year percentage hold for trucks = 14%
this year percentage hold for trucks = 14%
14, 000 / 0.14 = 10, 0000
to find value for last it would be 10,000 * 23 / 100 = 23, 000. This would be correct but I need to find the value for this year?
As multiple choice it would be either
A) 7,700 B) 14,000 C) 15,330 D) 23,000 E) 38,000
I think further calculation is required with ratios but I am not sure how to go about?
attempted
I tried 10, 000 * 5 / 8 (3+5) == 62500 = wrong
Can someone provide a solution? Thanks in advance.
