Q.1. I feel you have to take the 3 persons as a block. Then 5 people will be reduced as 3 people. This can be arranged in 6 ways. Similarly, we considered 3 persons as a block. In the block, the 3 persons can be arranged in 6 ways. Hence, I feel it should be 6 x 6 = 36.

For the second one, I feel the probability for non-availability of a fire engine is 1-0.95 = 0.05. Both the engines are not available; hence 0.05 x 0.05 = 0.0025
