Continuous uniform distribution question
Hi
the following question i am having trouble with:

The continuous uniform distribution can be used as a model for reading errors such as on a gauge marked in single units. Let X be the distance from half way below (x-value -0.5) to half way above (x-value +0.5) two successive marks.
Find Pr(-0.3 < X < 0.4)?

Is that the wording from a book or question set or have you constructed this question yourself?

I ask because I find the wording incomprehensible, and given the lack of other responses so do the usual candidates to answer such a question.
