I would say that's a fair assumption but remember that these are independent events so if a character was unlucky going from Level 1 to level 2 then their HP would be lower
Hi. I am currently stuck with the aforementioned question. I'm playing a video game where characters gain levels.
Let's assume a character has 10 hitpoints, and it has a 80% chance to grow in each level. We can therefore assume that the averages are:
Level 1: 10 HP
Level 2: 10.8 HP
Level 3: 11.6 HP
Level 4: 12.4 HP
Level 5: 13.2 HP
Let's take Level 3 as an example. Since the HP is 11.6, I would usually round it up, but this is a game in which there are no decimals. There's 10 hitpoints and there's an 80% chance for it to go up to 11, and 12, and 13, and so on.
If I take 11.6, would it be smarter to assume that the said character would have 12 HP at level 3? I assumed that they would still have 11 because there are no decimals in the game. Should I always round down or should I round up when it's 11.5 and above?
