Beginner permutations questions clarification
Jeff has a choice of three soups, four types of sandwiches, and two desserts. In how many ways can Jeff choose his lunch if he has soup, a sandwich, and dessert?

I completely forgot how to do questions like that. Is it simply 3P1 + 4P1 + 2P1 = 24? I feel like I'm missing something.

Note that $3\cdot 4\cdot 2=24$. Simple multiplication.

Also note that $_3P_1 + _4P_1 + _2P_1 = 9\ne 24?$

Right I meant multiplying them. And thanks! Guess I was over complicating things.
