Thread: Normal Distribution Probability

Not really sure how to get the answer on this one. Any help would be much appreciated. Tried to use the poisson formula but my calculator said "overflow error"

Using the Poisson formula sounds like a good idea.

Do you also get an overflow error if you calculate the probability of the opposite event that less than or equal to 10 passengers contract food poisoning? That should be managable for most reasonable calculators. You can then subtract this probability from 1 to get the desired answer.
