Binomial distribution.
What is the probability that the fisherman will catch 3 fish outside the legal limits before catching the first one inside the limits?

4C3 p^3(1-p)

Correct?

Without knowing the whole question it's impossible to know if your answer is right or wrong. There is no information given about n, for starters. Are we to assume n = 4?

The first part is about continuous probability of a normal distribution. Then it ask what I posted. You only use the continuous information to obtain p and 1-p which I have. I have no idea what n is but the wording leads me to believe 4.

Then it's a geometric distribution and the the answer will be p^3(1 - p).
