    Hypothesis test for u when σ is unknown

    Let X ~ N (u, σ)
    Ho: u = 150
    Ha: u ≠ 150

    test statistic = (148-150)/(9/6) = -4/3. We only care about abs(-4/3)= 4/3. Use a 5% significance level, 2 tail so critical value= 1.96.

    4/3< 1.96 so accept Ho
