In a tutorial I am given the standard deviation of bolts(over a long period of time), the mean diameter of a 200 bolts sample and that in one day the machine produces 6000 bolts.
stdev = 0.013cm
sample= 200 bolts
mean dia = 0.455cm
6000 bolts/day
then I am asked to determine ex the 96% confidence limits and the 99% confidence limits for an estimate of the mean diameter of all bolts produced in one day.
