Confidence limits
In a tutorial I am given the standard deviation of bolts(over a long period of time), the mean diameter of a 200 bolts sample and that in one day the machine produces 6000 bolts.

stdev = 0.013cm
sample= 200 bolts
mean dia = 0.455cm
6000 bolts/day

then I am asked to determine ex the 96% confidence limits and the 99% confidence limits for an estimate of the mean diameter of all bolts produced in one day.

If someone can give a brief explanation or some links on the matter, it would be really appreciated.

Don't you have class notes or a textbook? Have you tried using Google?

Are confidence limits and confidence intervals the same thing? Cause it seems that we have some wording of our own here :s

I suppose you would consider the endpoints of the confidence interval as the confidence limits.
