Thread: Mean, Standard Deviation, Median

Biologists measured the length of 43 nine-week old curly hedgehogs. Their mean length was 6.3 inches with the standard deviation of 2.4 inches; the median length was 6.7 inches.
The biologists want to recompute this data in centimeters. Determine the new
mean:
standard deviation:
median:


ok, so, I figured this was a simple conversion problem but nope! The mean IS a conversion problem but I have worked for 2 hours to try and figure out how to get the standard deviation and median. I'm guessing since 43 was highlighted in the problem, it has alot to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why do you say it isn't a simple conversion problem?

1 inch = 2.54 cm.
