from the table x = 1,2,3,4 and y= -1/4, -1/2, -3/4 and ? ( in table format)

1. would the correlation between x and y be positive or negative?

2. what is the missing value of x?

3. how would the values of this table be intrepreted in terms of linear regression?

4. if a 'line of best fit' is placed among these points plotted on a coordinate system, would the slope be positive or negative?

Please help!!

Have you plotted the points using a scatterplot?

I would say the correlation is negative and do you mean the missing y-value?

Have you reviewed your class notes on how to do these things? What thoughts have you had? Where are you stuck? Are you using technology to do the linear regression?
