In his work with sufferers of Parkinson's Disease, Jared Smith obtained the following data from nine sufferers on the duration of the disease (in years) and its severity (on the Hoehn and Yahr scale of disability):

Calculate Spearman's correlation for this data. What does the result imply?

I've attached a table with my calculations.

The correlation coefficient is rather large. So you can presume that the severity of the disease will increase with it's duration.

I've only a very limited knowledge (and no experience) with morbus Parkinson, but I guess the duration is only a secondary factor.
