I am trying to propensity match a situation and failing miserably! I have a group of people who either survive or don't according to the severity (scored from 1-100) of their accident. All the participants are of different ages so I was trying to adjust the data for this.
I understand that to match the groups - to get a propensity score - I need to find the probability of each of the participants being in the "survived" or "died" group regardless of their accident but due to their age. This seemed so simple, but I have no idea how to go about finding these probabilities.
Would I begin with a Mann-Whitney U test or similar to see if the age does alone result in different outcomes?
