Converting Fractions
Hi all, trying to convert some fractions and i'm a bit stuck as to how to do it.
Say i have this fraction: 135/1366
And i want to convert it to a fraction of something on 50. i.e x/50
how do i go about this?
Thanks for your help, first post!

You have to find a number that is a factor of both 135 and 1366.
Can you think of any?

You can construct an equation for that.
$\displaystyle \frac{135}{1366} = \frac{x}{50}$
Solve for x, the numerator of the fraction. To to this, multiply every term by 50, like this:
$\displaystyle \frac{135}{1366} \times 50 = \frac{x}{50} \times 50$
$\displaystyle \frac{135}{1366} \times 50 = x$
You can simplify x now (Happy)
