    mode/median

    1. Given the median of a series of seven consecutive numbers as a+2, find the mode of the series?
    A. a
    B. a + 2
    C. a - 2
    D. 2a + 2

The series obviously looks like this:

    a-1, a, a+1, a+2, a+3, a+4, a+5

    But now what?

The mode is the element of the set that occurs most often.

Since each number only appears once, that means there is not a mode (as there is not any element with the highest number of appearances).

Are you sure you're not asked to find the mean? Because the mean of this set is included as one of the possibilities...
