    Probability of success = 1/8 + 1/8 = 1/4.

    Pr(X = even) = Pr(X = 2) + Pr(X = 4) + Pr(X = 6) + ....

    = \left( \frac{3}{4} \right) \cdot \left( \frac{1}{4} \right) + \left( \frac{3}{4} \right)^3 \cdot \left( \frac{1}{4} \right) + \left( \frac{3}{4} \right)^5 \cdot \left( \frac{1}{4} \right) + ....

    = \frac{1}{4} \cdot \frac{3}{4} \left( 1 + \left( \frac{3}{4} \right)^2 +\left( \frac{3}{4} \right)^4 + .... \right)

and the expression inside the brackets is an infinite geometric series whose sum you should be able to get.
