    Probability of 0ne boy

    A researcher is studying the number of boys and girls in families with three children. The birth of a boy or girl is equally likely. Find the probability that a family of three children has one boy?

    I think that the answer is 1/8

    I need to take each percent and multiply them together?

    (.5)(.5)(.5) to get 1/8

    Here is the outcome space.
    \begin{array}{ccc}<br />
   B & B & B  \\<br />
   B & B & G  \\<br />
   B & G & B  \\<br />
   B & G & G  \\<br />
   G & B & B  \\<br />
   G & B & G  \\<br />
   G & G & B  \\<br />
   G & G & G  \\ \end{array}
    You count the cases with one boy.
