# Math Help - Discrete Probability

1. ## Discrete Probability

I don't know which formula to use. We have the choice of hypergeometric, geometric, union and binomial. I've tried plugging the numbers into some of them but it just isn't working with any of them. Here's the question:

If 2% of the transactions at a bank are applications for loans what is the probability that the first loan request on a given day occurs with the tenth customer?

According to answer sheet it should equal 0.017

Also I have no idea what to do with this one:

What is the expected number of people you would have to sample to find someone with the same birthday as yours?

And according to the answer sheet it should equal 364.

Can you caculate this: $(0.98)^9(0.02)=?$

3. >.< I never said I was good at math. Thanks C:

Does anyone have any idea about the other one?
