A druggist wishes to select three brands of aspirin to sell in his store. He has five major brands to choose from: A, B, C, D and E. If he selects the three brands at random, what is the probability that he will select the following?

    brand B

    brands B and C

at least one of the two brands B and C

    \Pr(B) = \frac{{1 \choose 1} \cdot {4 \choose 2}}{{5 \choose 3}}.

    \Pr(B \, \text{and} \, C) = \frac{{2 \choose 2} \cdot {3 \choose 1}}{{5 \choose 3}}.

    \Pr(B \, \text{or} \, C) = \Pr(B) + \Pr(C) - \Pr(B \, \text{and} \, C). Note that \Pr(B) = \Pr(C) (why?).
