    Sample Space

    Can be explained as to raise such questions.

    1) Find the sample space of a random experiment which can have k possible outcomes.

    2) Find all possible outcomes of the useful life of an article in hours.

    3) Find the sample space of a randomized trial of 5 persons with respect to their degree of study.

    You really need to be more specific what you are asking for.

    Say you roll a die, the die can show either 1,2,3,4,5 or 6.
    Let X be a random variable with X=1 if the die shows a 1 and X=2 is the die shows a 2 and so on...

    Then the sample space is simply \left(1,2,3,4,5,6 \right) , that is the set which contains the values X can take.
