# Probability question

Probability question
A baseball team plays eight games. Each game has a 0.25 probability of winning.
a- What is the prob of game 5 being the first win?
b- What is the prob of their being 3 wins and 5 losses?

Is the 0.25 just there to throw me off? This one is stumping me for some reason. Thank you!

(n-k)+k = n = total games = 8
k= games won
n - k = games lost
p = probability of winning = 0.25
(1 - p) = probability of loosing = 0.75

You assume the games are independent... and so

The prob of game 5 being the first win means the first 4 are losses so,

(.75)^4(.25)
\$

The second question is binomial distribution with n=8, k=3, p=.25... can you do it with that info
