Mutually exclusive is important it tells us that they are disjoint events.

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B)=.3+.5

P(A and ~B)=P(A)*P(~B)=P(A)*(1-P(B))=.3(1-.5)=.15

P(A and B)=P(A)*P(B)=.3*.5=.15
