$\displaystyle V=E((X-\overline{X})^2)=\sum_{i=1}^4 (x_i-\overline{X})^2\;p(x_i)$

$\displaystyle \overline{X}=E(X)=\sum_{i=1}^4 x_i\;p(x_i)$
