The size of 21 year 12 classes in our school are as follows:
16, 14, 12, 17, 16,5,4,17,11,17,17,14,11,22,9,17,15,12,16,10,8
I know how to do (a)- calculation the mean and median class size.
Mean = 13.33
Median = 14
(b) Which measure would you use if you were:
(1) A parent wanting smaller class sizes and why?
(2) The principal justifying no reduction in class size? Give reasons for your answers.
(3) Why is there such a difference between the mean and the median?
