    functions Problem

    Enter Yes or No in each answer space below to indicate whether the corresponding equation defines Y as a function of X

    1. 8x=y^2
    2. 8+x=y^3
    3. x^2+1y=9
    4. (x^2)*y+y=3

    y=\pm \sqrt{8x} 2 solutions.

    Yes
