Math Help - graphing question

    graphing question

    the cross section of a roof of a house is modelled by the function y=-5/12|x-12|+5 where y>0


    graph it....


    then i need to find the height and length of each side of the triangle.

    this one really has me stumped,I have looked all over for solutions,I'm doing this through distance learning so its hard to get help at 11 PM haha

    1) Start by drawing the y-axis and the x-axis.
    2) Choose a starting value for x (x=0) and calculate y from the equation.
    3) Draw this point in the graph.
    4) repeat 2 and 3
    5) Draw a line between the points.
    6) Read out the height and length from the graph
