    when is function increasing/decreasing

    Solve without calculator:

    when is f(x)=x^4-3x^3+2x^2-2 increasing/decreasing?

    Do you know how to take the derivative ?

    f'(x)=4x^3-9x^2+4x=x(4x^2-9x+4)
