row reduced echelon form

The following matrix needs to be simplified...

−8 0 −24 −8 −9
2 1 8 4 1
1 0 3 1 1
−1 1 −1 1 0

I did row operations and i end up with

1 0 3 1 9/8
0 1 2 2 1/3
0 1 2 2 1
-1 1 -1 1 0

though i doubt that is correct.
any ideas on where i went wrong or how i can fix this?

$\begin{array}{c}R_1+8R_3 \\ \\ \\ \\ \end{array} \left[\begin{array}{cccc|c} 0&0&0&0&\text{-}1 \\ 2&1&8&4&1 \\ 1&0&3&1&1 \\ \text{-}1 & 1 & \text{-}1 & 1 & 0 \end{array}\right]$

We have a row of zeros and the last term is not zero.

The system has no solution.
