# Math Help - [SOLVED] non-vertical asymptote

1. ## [SOLVED] non-vertical asymptote

Problem:

1. Find the equation of the non-vertical asymptote.
y =

2. Does intersect its non-vertical asymptote? (yes or no)

on 1, I do not know how to find the equation.
I keep geeting the horizontal which is (+and-)(3/58)

& on 2 I know it is no.

Do long division:

$\dfrac{-5x^3+8x^2-7x-2}{3x^2+5x+5}=\underbrace{-\frac53x+\frac{49}9}_{\text{term of skewed asymptote}}+\dfrac{-(233x+263)}{3x^2+5x+5}$
