    [SOLVED] Log functions

    solve for x:

    log(x+1) - log(x-2) = 1

    =

    log[(x+1)/(x-2)] = 1

This is as far as I got, I think i need to get rid of the log somehow but I am not sure

Try rewriting the problem in exponential form.

ok, I think I get it

    log[(x+1)/(x-2)] = 1

    reduces to 10^1 = (x+1)/(x-2)

    from there I got x = 7/3

    am I close?
