    Rate of change question.

    Consider the function f(x) = x^3. What is the average rate of change of this function between x = -2 and x = 1?

    The solution I got was 2.667

    Can anyone tell me if I'm right?

    f(x) = x^3

    \frac{f(1) - f(-2)}{1 - (-2)} = \frac{1 - (-8)}{3} = 3
