Thread: finding the x intercept.

y=3x+5

i got -1 and 2 thirds, but it tells me im wrong. any help???

As far as I can tell, either the problem is wrong or the system is looking for it in a specific format. You have the right answer, perhaps whatever program you're using needs it put in as an improper fraction such as -5/3 ?

maybe the solution wherever you're looking is for the y intecept, which would be 5.
Books sometimes have these kind of mistakes in them.

thats the thing, it doesnt tell me the right answer, it just says im wrong. its my homework on this online program.
